Early this morning, we had a knock at the door. It was a woman who we had not met who brought a special visitor asking if we knew where his daddy was. So I loaded Angie in the car and searched and searched, and pretty soon we came upon this guy. A little closer look. Pretty soon, he cruised into our campsite. So I kidnapped him! LOL, jk... here he is! The really tough part is keeping Angie from claiming Scooby for her stuffed animal collection!

The Head Ranger and Regional Manager just stopped by and made Scooby an honorary Junior Ranger! Here's John trying to reason with Angie that she can't have Scooby for her own.

I managed to bump into someone after being here only 10 days. Now is that good or what. I'm beat up though. Legs tired, burned, and cuts, but it's all good fun.

Those are some ugly feet, but so worth the sacrifice. Keep on pedaling...

This is just awesome! Can't wait to hear about the week with Jo and your next stop. Keep Scooby safe from Angie and enjoy your down time.

How many miles did you pedal so far, John? I'm rather ashamed to say that I've been rather lazy, and have only done 16,200+. It's been quite a long time since I passed the 10,000 mile point. Once again the pressure is on to get across country in my visa time, but I've worked out that I really ONLY need to travel 35 miles a day (every day) to accomplish that. I've been riding like crazy to get here, and have clocked up enough 'Credit Miles' to allow me time for a few rest days rest. I can't be doing with all the pampering I'm getting here. I'm being forced to sleep on a bed. I mean how civilised. Whats wrong with the floor. Hahaha, and all the lumpy food Noodles are so easy, and the less choice I have the easier life is. Oh well, I'd better make the most of it. Don't know where my next stop is going to be, but it'll be somewhere in the States I'm sure.

Hey John, is there a strict visa time for you in the US? If so, why don't you head northwards, to push some pedals through Canada, and then come back South? This would also keep you away from the extreme heat during the approaching summer.

I've only been putting a little meat on his bones. "Lumpy" food does that. Blueberry pancakes yesterday morning, homemade beef veggie soup (my grandmother's recipe) and grilled cheese for lunch and then steak cooked on the grill for dinner last night. This morning, I made my famous hashbrowns (packed with various meats), and have a baggie of sliced flank steak marinating as we speak for beef jerky which will go with John on his travels.
Yesterday we visited some of the ancient Hopi dwellings and mounds here in the park and met some of the archaeologists who are currently working here now. We also drove up to the Little Painted Desert and saw a breathtaking view. Then we got groceries. This morning, John is making some repairs to his bike and we may go out for a few small parts.
Last night, John did not allow me to pull out the bed in the sofa and threatened to go out and pitch his tent if I did not stop fussing, LOL. Bill woke up this morning and saw him and said this was not allowed and proclamated that he was going to force John to allow us to make him comfortable tonight. Stay tuned to see if it really happens or not, LOL.
I'll put up a few more pics in a bit.

Naaawww, whenever he gets out of hand, I just take him out to get a slushy... he's become addicted to them! LOL.
Today was bike part finding day. We hunted all over for two parts for his bike. One we found, the other we didn't.
