Time to plant my garden now that it has warmed up. Went to get my seed potatoes out of my cold room. And this is what I found. Not sure of the name of these spuds but they are solid purple and taste great. The purple mashed potatoes are creepy. but a hit with my daughters friends when they come over.

so those potato seeds grew into purple spuds in your basement bushman?

Oh my gosh, looks like those seed potatoes decided to start growing without you planting them. Looks like someone sent you a flat rate box of purple people eaters... ;D I've seen purple potatoes before but never used them to make mashed potatoes (sounds cool though). Hey we could put your potatoes together with Ed's purple chicken (not gonna ask what makes it purple) and some purple beans to make a complete balanced amethyst dinner (although we'd have to eat the purple beans raw because they tend to turn dark green when they are cooked).

Ah ya don’t need to ask Diane cause I’m heart to tellya what makes my classic chicken purple it the grape of the vine wine ! ha ha
I made this recipe many many moons ago basically chicken breasts sautéed in a burgundy or a good Gallo red with many other scrumptious herbs
serving it to the then family the little kids balked at eating the purple chicken but after a mouth watering savoring tasting they all ranted & raved & always looked forward to a future purple chicken dinner lovely with purple taters I’m sure
cheers Ed

Ed I got these from a friend for seed last year. They yielded good and are solid purple. I could not believe they sprouted like that.

Yes I have been eating those purple potatoes for years. When you slice them like a slab the take a nice shine with just the right amount of O.L. They are allso good for people with diabetes as they are low glycemic index (low in sugar) STU
