Hi Jack,
Thank you for the welcome & reply! I have been to Yorkshire once. It is a beautiful place! What kinds of rocks for tumbling do you find there? I live in east central Idaho in a beautiful remote valley surrounded by several of the tallest mountains in Idaho. It is a rock haven with nodules, geodes, agates, jasper, quartz, chalcedony, azurite, malachite, chrysocolla, amethyst, opal, fluorite, calcite, obsidian, petrified wood, fossils, stone artifacts...

Welcome! Your picking some real softies to tumble with. First and foremost is the understanding that these are difficult and messy rocks to work with. The usual method for tumbling them is very short runs (3 or 4 days in a ratary/ a couple hours in a vibe). Course grit can probably be skipped, starting instead with 120/220 (rotary) or 500 (vibe). Cusioning of the load is also going to be important (plastic pellets in a rotary, ceramics in a vibe). Not sure on what polish to use- probably Tin Oxide or Cerium Oxide.
