Sometimes things don't quite work out do they Tony? Cracks or not, these cabs look great. I especially like the depth in the unknown one.

Don't that just tick you off? I have a bad habit of not seeing a fracture until I'm almost through. Never tried it but I hear Opticon will solve the problem. Of course putting them out face up at night never hurts anything either.

Some times I don't see the cracks until I have finished a cab and look at the picture.

Yeah, I _hate_ fractures and usually don't see them until they're nearly done. I think the scratches hide the fractures. As Ed said, they're heartbreakers.

Happened twice to me last night. Cracks popped up right when I was finishing. Turned my Ameritool grinder off and went to bed. Then I could sleep!

My husband tried the opticon without success, but we dont know what were doing, lol. What does putting them face up at night do for them?

Lol, Curt and I have an on going discussion about the space aliens and rocks ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) He has assured me that putting my hard to polish cabs out over night will allow the space peoples to pass by and shine them up for me. I have tried over and over, even putting out milk and cookies, but to no avail..although my cats are much friendlier now. Thanks, all, for your commiserating with me over the cracks. Yep, they are a bear, and they seem to only show up when a nice polish is upon the cab. I thought for a while it was due to the heat of cab on leather, but I suspect it is just the polish that lets me see the nasty things. And, yes, sometimes it is the camera that lets one see the cracks that were always there. The camera sees all! I can't deal with opticon as it jumps my lungs and makes my head whirley, and holding my breath while I work with it, just made my head and lungs explode. For those interested it trying, or learning opticon better, Bob did a great tut on using it. Sorry, I don't have the link. Tony
