i am up and running.... i had a couple of small problems but thru the help of you guys and catmandewe i am fully functional.... i got the machine from catmandewe (tony) and he has worked hard at answering my questions and walking me blindly thru all this....i have ordered belts from john at JGems (i think that is the name) and tony is sending me a polishing wheel.. LET THE FUN BEGIN..... if you click on the pics they should enlarge rain here today(theres a shocker) sooo darn i guess i can't work in the yard.....guess i will be forced to go cabbing

here are the slabs Tony sent along with my machine these are taken on the same step.....as you can see, some are a little larger than others i haven't started cutting yet~~ i have some of "ralph"s rejects" that maryann sent to me and i'm just getting the feel on the dang thing. Other GOOD news......i have found a rock hounding club in my town..... YAY!! thanks for looking karon

Tony sent you some nice material to play with. So did Mary Ann. You'll like that old Star Diamond saw. I had one for many years, and finally gave it to a friend about a year ago. So now the real fun begins. I'd suggest that you start with some not so pretty material and practice, practice, practice. Save the really nice material for after you have a couple dozen cabs under your belt. Having a local rock club is a big plus. Sure wish I had one in my area.
