I finished up my first knife scale project this past weekend and am pleased with the results. It does have some surface imperfections and the brass was only finished to a grit of 1000 but overall, I like it. I have started a few more already but will plan to make them a little more refined in finish. This one is currently in my pocket and will see some rough use as time goes by. Thanks for looking. Mike

Nice work there Mike! Seeing that makes me wish I carried a knife! But I looked at that tutorial that was posted, and that's a whole lot of work....like everything else in this hobby... great rock choice too.
Sue
Oh...and truly impressive for a first set...looks like you've been doing this a while.

Looks great. You must have huge pockets.

Mike, that looks really good! I like the satin finish on the bolsters too.

Thanks everyone!
lol - Toad - not sure if it is that my pockets are big... it may just be that they are otherwise empty. My rock habit has a way of emptying them out.
The tutorial provided by Michael Hoover proved invaluable to me... I am sure it saved me from making a bunch more mistakes.

Great work. Looks like a perfect fit and the colors and depth of the patterns really go well with the brass. One day i hope to be able to show off a piece that nice.

Great job. Wish I had Mike's tutorial when I started, but I flew by the seat of my pants. Like your choice of stone. Ken

Great job! I love that moss. I did one with the green moss. I like yours better.

hell that came out perfect man -- i was gifted a very nice smallish pocket knife from Ken and everytime i show it to anyone or they see me use it they all want to hold it haha --hey lemmy see that -- you can just tell theres something special about a custom made knife that grabs the eye -- i guess cause you just dont see many from cool stone -- Ken also made me a pill box to carry my pain killers -- i never leave home without them haha -- they also wanna check that out so i gotta keep a close eye on them both
