Wow can't believe there's no updates from digging this weekend. Ashwood Rock Stock should have been going on - Richardson's ranch had the plume bed open (I was the first to claim a hole hehe) however I search for moss eggs... Waste of time trying to dig plume - I actually headed off rather quickly and dug better things and avoided the crowd and the kids who parents can't seem to control in a dangerous environment.
After Richardson's Ranch I headed over to Ashwood/Antelope and dug more Thundereggs and enjoyed freezing weather with marble sized hail and snow - By golly summer might come sometime this year!
Also the Federation show was heading to Hampton Butte and who knows what else.
Next weekend I'm headed to the Ochoco's and the following weekend is a glass butte run.

This weather is nuts, at this rate it will be August before the 10+ feet of snow melts off the areas I want to go hunting. Tim

Yeah it was interesting this weekend. I had snow, rain, sunshine and marble sized hail lol. But in all respect it was nicer this year than last. Last Memorial day I was at McDonalds Ranch and it was low 30's but dry.
Good deal Roy - Glad to got some nice material. You mean you actually looked for my beds? They were very white with snow and very muddy - so good thing you didn't find em LOL.
That's what I laughed about this weekend. I have two Thunderegg claims, but rather than dig my material I was "paying" for rock down at Richardson's LOL

Two of us spent most of the week at Glass Buttes. would have gone over to Hampton Butte, but we had enough of the weather by then. We even saw some sun LOL! My partner was done in with the cold. Did I mention the glass Buttes roads were a wee bit slippery? Did not stop at Richardson's...figured the roads there would not be open since it was raining when we passed by. Opted for ice cream at Shinako instead. Woody

Good Question Larry - Last year Alex McDonald was running the rock-stock, however this year there was no signs posted on Hiway 97. I think it's petered out since Darryl passed away - Heck Cathy has moved off the ranch and moved into the valley on the west side and rumor has it the son got the egg bed and the daughter got the seam agate. Unsure what the other ranches are doing now-a-days.

Wish his family well....he was one of the good guys in our hobby and will be missed...Ashwood was one of those things I got to enjoy and find some nice stuff during the Rock Stock a few years back. I wondered what impact his passing would have on the event.

We were planning to go but with the weather we decided to get work done around the house instead. We will be at the Madras Pow Wow though.
