Hello Andy321er's, I thought I'd share what I believe to be a really dank (AAA, of a great build) example of a Brazilian Agate that I seized on Ebay: as a $39.00 dollar Buy It Now! I thought "in a purely cheeky way" that I'd have to do something or another like an Osculum infame (kissing a demon's hind end...lol) to score a great 1 pound 2.4 oz of stoney-goodness like this. Funny thing is, I had my mind set on a Crowley's Ridge with some neato pursed-mouth banding; though my Paypal account was drained down to nada - so I blew my chances on that! So by me getting frakked (chances killed on the Crowley) because of a 3-5 day Bank to Pay Pal transfer time, I ended up finding the Brazilian mentioned above; and I'm typically not so sold on wanting a Brazilian agate
The reason being is most are too concentric for me, like the inside of an age-ringed tree; or they simply have too much quartz for my liking, I like floaters.. but alot are "just ok" to me. In this particular agate though: I like the Coquelicot Fortification bands with the darker Rust Red's locked in; set on a gemmy blue, with mossy filaments and spherulites of all sizes - all of this adds a busying touch. I like my agates to look alive; the more they look like little world-spaces where you can attempt to do a Where's Waldo/Faces in the Clouds Finding, the longer you can look at them with a loupe or micrograph camera. Anyways this Agate has really helped to turn around my opinion of Brazilian Agates; since it seems to have gotten a fat of the land sized drinking straw in it's day, and sucked the Iron Oxide magic out of all the Indian Paint Pots where it had formed - it's just so RED...lol.
Also I am wondering if this Agate might be of old stock? I've seen an old gen Brazilian on Flickr that look similar to it: in way of Red fort banding & the small orbs. Here that one is:
And another with similarities:
And here is mine: (The images might become broken links though soon, as they are the Ebay seller's images of their "now recently my own" specimen)
