Maybe I'm just not observant enough, but is it just the US that has wildfires?
I understand rainforests not having them- it rains every day, but what about areas in Europe and northern Asia?

Shouldn’t be too hard to remember Russia last year, or Australia the year before.
Mexico, Alberta, Quebec, Alaska, have all hit the news in the past month.
And if you don’t think rainforests can burn, see Brazil or Indonesia.

A town in northern Alberta lost over 300 homes from a wild fire. To date there have been 1297 fires in Canada, down from the average 2010 fires for this time of year.

Toad, I would guess that media attention has more to do with it. Tends to be pretty parochial.

I know you ain’t payin’ attention, Toad, so just a reminder . . . ;D
As bad as it was in Russia in 2010, this year’s wildfires have already burned an area three times larger than last year, same time.

Too US-centric. But then there is so much junk going on here that it sometimes gets easy to overlook the rest of the world.
