Howdy folks, Krystee wanted to see a picture of our new horse, Hopper. Only pic I have on file, unfortunately has me in it too so you'll just have to suffer and look at homely ole me too *L*. This was taken about the second time I had him out early last spring and in this pic we were just heading out of the trees and down a bank into the creek, hence the concentration. When I first started riding him it was pretty much touch and go as to whether I was gonna get thrown (or fall) off him or not and even now, some days he's pretty troublesome. Anyway, ain't he pretty?......Mel

What a sweet lookin' well muscled horse. He looks like he's trying to figure out how he can throw you off balance on the way down that bank. Good thing you concentrated. *S* Thanks for the pic. Jo

Now that is ONE FINE HANDSOME Palomino!!! Never rode a spunky one but sure miss riding. It's been too many years, left our farm in Cottage Station, TX as a young child and moved on to a cattle ranch in Centennial, WY top of the Rockies, before I became a city girl in WA. Miss the horses, cattle and my snowmobile that I got to drive by myself 2 miles each morning to the ranch entrance.
Hopper is very very pretty, I can just imagine how much fun you're having even if he's a bit troublesome at times!!!

I think horses are such amazingly beautiful animals ... Funny to think they evolved from an 11 inch wide by 12 inch high horse to this big beautiful sized ones today !!!

Toad: Hey! I resemble that comment *L*.
Tom: One ride and you'd know why they named him Hopper. He jumps like a 1200 pound grasshopper and as unpredictably.
Tanya: I can already read his mind. When I'm bent over cleaning his hooves, he's thinking, "Hmmm, time to bite a hunk out of this yahoo's ass."

*L* Rich, John Wayne probably had a stunt double, or an extra beside the horse with a mattress. All we got to fall on here on the ranch is hard ground, spiny cactus and rocks and the whole place is full of trees with low branches. I wear cowboy gear only on special occasions. The rest the time I sometimes wish I had full body armor. Hopper spooked and took me under an oak tree the other day and near beat me to death against the branches. That helmet I'm wearing has a cracked visor and dings all over it from whacking into tree branches*L*....Mel

"Hmmm, time to bite a hunk out of this yahoo's ass." Maybe you should start carrying your carrots in a different pocket, LOL.

You could just whisper in his ear, and mention he would taste just like elk. They understand things like this. When I started riding, (Marine base) all the horses were ex ammo pack animals. Trained to carry a load to a gun with out handlers, and return when pack was empty. If you got...or was dumped the horse returned to the stable. My favourite was a big 17 hand roan that bit your shoulder as soon as your offside foot left the ground. Bit everybody except those few of us had nailed him on the nose before he bit. Only had to do this once. He too like low hanging tree limbs. Got me off a couple of times. Woody
