You are very talented! Perfect dome, nice simetrical shape, and you also chose such a beautiful material for your first cab. That one must be kept.

Very nice, even if it were a "not a first cab"!!!
I'm fairly new (<1 year) to cabbing and I'm beginning to see the wisdom in choosing prime starting material Even if you mess it up, you learn in the process...and don't waste any time on cheap rock. You chose a great piece to work on. I'm going to be pickier in the future...
Keep up the good work and post more pictures as you have them. Sue

as Dan Akroyd said to John Candy in the movie "The Great Out Doors" 'processing nicely' and that's a sincere compliment

I love the depth of the stone. Almost looks like frost forming underneath the surface. I agree......it's a keeper

I was wondering when you would post some pictures of your first cab. It has been worth the wait. This is a great first cab. I love the material and the shape you used. Keep,up the good work and you will see as I have the improvements that you will make as you continue perfecting your technique. Save and photograph all of your cabs. You will be amazed by the progress that you will see in your work. I know because I have started about the same time as you and I see a huge difference in my cabs from when I started til now. Keep up the good work:) Stu

if your talking about a bench grinder then its best to stay away from those for lapidary work
speed is way TOO fast can easily get hurt
I have a variable speed bench grinder and even with that option I only use it sparingly for the rocks Ed
