Here is what I have been up to for the past week or so. The largest blade is eight inches long. All are obsidian from Glass Buttes, Oregon except for one slag glass. Woody The group The big Gold Sheen Rainbow Another Rainbow...not reflecting

Gorgeous knives! You alsomade some very friendly handles from those antlers. My favorites are the rainbow (3 o clock first pic) and the one with a small "branch" (9 o clock).

You're a reall cut up LOL Wow that's some fine knapping. I'd love to try that some time. I've never had a large enough piece of Obsid. or someone to teach me. Super Dooper work there (the heck with cabs when you can do work like taht) Mike

Boy are those impressive. Try as hard as I might to get my sons interested in stones it is a no go unless it is things like this. My sons eyes widened when I showed him these pics.
What kind of rope is wrapped between blade and handle? It looks like sinew (sp?).

The wrapping is artificial sinew. I do natural as well. I am not sure about the whereabouts of Knappins (Flint knapping gatherings) near you, but there will be some. I will have a look on another forum, and post the particulars. We (knappers) like passing on out skills. especially to the younger ones. Woody
