I have a freind who has been doing handyman work for a realtor. He called me yesterday to tell me the house he working on currently has a bunch of rocks in the garage, come get them if I want them. There wasn't much in the way of regular lapidary rock, just a few mineral specimens, a little rough and a few slabs. These were the most interesting. What got us really interested is this. The former home owner was a prospector with several nice nuggets to show for his efforts, so needless to say we were more than willing to take home one or two hundred lbs of this stuff. On close examination it would seem that the sparkle is all pyrite. The green Rhyolite will polish pretty good so some of it might make some good cabbing rough. Lee

I'm with you Roller, but there's not a lot in this part of Ohio. Who knows, it may still happen one day. That crazy lace agate is beautiful.

Even the pyrite is pretty...congrats on the great find. I'll pick up rocks, in general, regardless of the cabbing or tumbling opportunities so even specimen quality items I find interesting. Cool stuff and thanks for sharing the photos! Paul

Free rocks, heck yeah. Glad he called you instead of just pitching them in the flower bed or (gasp) dumpster.
