This is the first new boat out of the shop in three years. Boat building has been slow. This wee beach skiff is just under eight feet, and was built from two sheets of marine plywood. It is my design based on a 1930 era planked boat. There are foam filled flotation chambers fore, and aft, so, completely filled with water the gunwale is clear of the water. This well exceeds the Coast Guards regulations. Woody

That is a great boat, you sure are a craftsman. So glad to hear you are back to building wonderful boats like this. I'm sure it will be treasured by the new owner.

Man that is a beauty! I love boats, especially the old timey kind. Next you should build a sail boat. I can just imagine how pretty that would be....Mel

Ah Woody, that is a beauty. We are honored that you still have time for rocks and knives when you have so much talent for boat building. I'd love to paddle around in a boat like that.

MADE A BOAT?!?!?! omg! that is gorgeous! It's not often to hear someone talk about making their own. My cousin and my grandpa were talking about making like a 1/20th (i dont know for sure) scale boat a few years ago. Some type of real fancy pirate ship looking boat, that was remote controled, and could send down a sub!

The boat you made is amazing. The stained wood is very beautiful and warm. I can imagine many lazy days on a lake with that beauty. Steve

Nice boat! I can't believe that is only 2 sheets of marine ply, you must have used every scrap.
