Beautfiul Brazilian Bob! That is sensational. I don't know if I could ever tackle a cab that big and make it look all that nice. Thanks for sharing! Steve

So when you going to do one a full half-foot across???
Awesome cab. Love that broken red band that runs through the middle.

The back seems polished did you cut this from a polished slab? If you turn a old Iron upside down it makes a very nick heater for dopping. I have also used a alcohol lamp with the stone sitting on a table fork. You did a nice job on your cab if you have not tried it, it takes much longer to go fron the different grinding and sanding stages. Don

Holy mackerel Bob, that's huge! What an amazing cab! I love the dop stick too. Easy to get a good grip on that bugger for sure! I've been trying to get a cab half that size done, and it isn't working out for me. YOu are the KING of huge cabs!

Thank you all for the super comments! Rocpup, This cab came from a standard slab. I polished the back to the same standard that I do on the front. The secret to doing the back quickly and very flat is the dry sanding on a 3" wide, 8" diameter Silicon Carbide expando belt/wheel combination. It is the method that I have refined over the years. As soon as I can get a new grinding wheel on my cabber I will be finishing a Canadian River Plume Agate slab that is approaching the 6" wide mark. This Brazilan Agate cab is destined for my display case this weekend in San Francisco. Bob

Bob, that one can be a belt buckle, it is so big! It is beautiful! I gather you do the backs first before dopping? Fran

Fran, I sand the backs after I do the grinding and preliminary sanding on the front and just before I dop them. Bob
