I just don't know how they can be so incompetent! I am sorry you are going though so much with the build out. Your statements in the other post really tell the story. Sounds like these guys have never done this before! Good luck and I sure hope it turns around for you and they can finally complete this build out! Fran

KD, thanks for posting. I appreciate it. Well, it has been interesting. The person in the photo almost cut his finger off with a circular saw. They have taken down all the sheetrock and redone the insulation, and new sheetrock. They are gong to tape tomorrow. I cannot wait. I had to purchase more materials today for them. If we were not in so deep, I would walk away. Swiftly! They are so suprised that I am not happy with the cost, or the delay. Oh well, Floriduh is like that. Anybody moving here, be aware. One of the laws here, We do it right, we do it twice or more. I mean, cut three times, get a new piece and cut it close. Maybe. These guys are pros also. They do it for a living. If I drank, or otherwise, I might be anesthetised right now. This is trying indeed. The electrical is still waaaay off and they are taping tomorrow! My shop is backwards! Oh well.

Went to the shop today. There were sheets of insulation in the garbage. We had just purchased it. This is the expensive R-39 stuff. Just tossed out. They had to tear down the sheetrock, and pulled down the insulation with it. They told us they needed more. We got enough to replace what we found in the garbage! I am glad I do not drink. I would really be a mess now. I am very reluctant to go tomorrow. I just have this question, Where are the wires for the security cameras, and speakers? They were supposed to go up before the sheetrock. Something tells me. These guys are the top of the food chain in construction here. I mean the cream of the crop. The prime pick of the litter. They were putting in one of the recessed lights, and, they cut the roof rafters to install it! I mean, they cut a roof joist and moved part of it. Now there is a rafter that is in several pieces. Good lord.

Doc!, that will be a weak spot in your roof and manafest itself long after there are gone leaving you holding the queen of spades. Sounds like you need to have someone who knows what they're doing come in and tell you what the correct fix would be.

I used to build houses. I have two torn rotator cuffs, fractured my neck three times. If I could, I would be there instead of them. I know all this. That is what is so hard. They really are the top of the food chain here. That is the fleamarkets issue. We will stay there as long as it serves us. My wife can retire next year, we were thinking of Northern Maine for our golden years. No people, No nothing. I will build my house, do it the way I know works. I have built three houses with this wife. That is what I do, build houses, jewelery is second. They are making me nuts. Today, they expected kudos. I was speachless.

Any framer worth his salt knows not to cut a roof truss. Top of the food chain for that area - scary thought. There is one above them - you da boss!

Under ordinary circumstances, you would be correct. These are people from the flea market! They are employed by the flea market. Every time I have gone to them and showed them how to do it faster and better, they walk off for a few days. I am on a time table, and so far, it is blown. I have a texture guy waiting. He told me if he cannot get in by Monday, He would have to put it off for a month! We are seriously thinking on pulling the plug on this one. You in the South boy....

Any reason you can't bring in your own contractor? Maybe someone from out of town that knows which end of a hammer to use?

The fleamarket recquires it.
