I was asked to make a few of these for friends and found that they are fun and relativity easy to make. Sort of like tiny cabs. Sheep Creek Agate Purple Jade Apache Hickoryite Wild Horse Picture Jasper Thanks for looking, Tim

Thanks! I don't play guitar either, wish I did. My daughter's boyfriend is sort of a pro so he helped me to get them right.
As far as rock goes I've found the harder/denser the better so that limits it to tight agates, jade and porcelain (nearly porcelain) jaspers. Brazilian agate is always a good choice. I cut the slabs 3 mm thick, mark out the picks (careful to avoid any fractures and pits) and cut the blanks. Than I very carefully taper the pick on both sides (ever so slight dome) using the cab machine and flat lap, this brings the thickness down to about 1.9- 2.5 mm. After they are shaped I smooth out the scratches with the 280 nova wheel. Next I toss them into the vib for a quick tumble in each cycle thew polish. If its jade than you have to do them all on the wheels or flat lap as jades doesn't like to tumble. Last step is a hand polish to get a mirror shine. The glassy polish is important, especially for electric guitars, because is eliminates any taping or scratching sounds as the pick glides across the strings, that's a problem with plastic picks as they wear.
They are pretty ease, the hardest part is slabbing the rock thin and getting the very slight dome. Tim
