These were fun to make, I saw a someones site online who makes these and sort of figured out how he did it. I'll only say it involves power-tools and nails. BC Jade Lavendar with Black Jade Mushroom Jasper Amozoneite Tim

You're really expanding your portfolio Tim! I would think the beads are way too labor intensive to make any profit on, but if you've got a market - awesome! They are very cool, I hope you do well with them.

I used Epoxy 330 to join the jades together. You're very right Nate, no way the time to profit investment makes since. I don't really care to much if they sell or not, though I'd be happy if one or two did. I just get a kick out of making something different. The hardest part is drilling that damn hole. The green jade is almost 1.5" and it didn't drill easy.

Oh sure, the old power tool and nail routine. Certainly want to keep that one under your hat. Love the lavender and black jade. I've done some drilling, can't imagine 1.5" and how long that took. Nice work!

That looks like a fun thing to do but must be time consuming. If you drilled the wholes using a nail and grit you might have to retire before it got through that jade. When you go to the bead store and you see all those agate and jasper beads you have to wonder how did they drill all those holes and sell a string of beads for that price? Don

Wow Tim, you are a wonder for sure! I drill my stone pendants with a dremel and I know how long that takes and that the drill bits don't drill too many stones before dieing. I am in awe of your ability. I love them all but the color in the Amazonite is Gorgeous!

Great beads! I understand the frustration with drilling long distances. Back before they invented the ultrasonic drill I did an agate bead necklace. Many hours of slow work and expensive (at that time) drill bits that "bit the dust". When the ultrasonic drills hit the market the bead necklace business literally exploded with cheap beads and necklaces. Unfortunately, an ultrasonic drill machine is way beyond my meager means. Bob

Yes, I made all of them. I didn't want to describe the way I made them not because I was trying to be secretive to the forum but because I thought the original creator might not want how it's done out there for everyone to reproduce. To drill I use 1 mm diamond drills, not the nails ha ha. They are for something else. I wish I had a ultrasonic drill, that big jade bead took 3 drills to make the hole. I have a micro-motor to drill, sort of like a dermal on steroids, I love the old beads, they had so much more character than the production line stuff sold today. Here's another one from green OJ I did today, Tim I've made several others now to give to family
