Glad you enjoyed the Garden of the Gods park here in Colorado Springs. The rock is sandstone and is part of the formation when The entire central US was an inland sea. There are several balanced rocks in the park and a cave and an area unknown to most that has fossils, of note the mtn just above the rock is Mt Manitou and is part of the foothill of Pikes Peak.

Garden of the Gods was very cool. I also thought Seven Falls was very nice.
The little shops on Manitou Ave. are a blast as well.

Nice pic and rock. This reminds me of Balanced Rock near Fredericksburg,Texas. An almost round stone about the size of a small elephant, balanced on a small tip.Used to climb up what they call Bear Mountain to see it.But some fine upstanding individuals decided it would be fun to dynamite it.It can be googled and pics seen of it,but its no longer there.Glad to see that one still standing.

Wow, we missed the Garden of the Gods... but that just means there's more to see and a reason to hit the Rockies again. Great rock, great pic! Jo
