Looks like a tornado advancing toward the blade of a Buck 110 with a lightening strike just ahead of it and an open field with some trees in it ahead. I tried on 3 different machines to get the scratches out in the middle so i know it is not the operator. Has to be a streak of ryolite in the center of each scale that won't take a polish. I even got my old SiC machine out and went to 220, 400 and 600 and 600 wore out and it made no difference. Been over this one about 5 times or more and that one section won't polish out. It is just above the line where the 'trees' are. Ken

I think it is wonderful! Some stones have places that just won't polish, but they still look awesome.

I think it looks great. I don't see a spot that doesn't polish but if it's Rhyolite, have you tried a bit of diamond paste? I've actually got a decent polish on Rhyolite using the 8,000p diamond cabbing wheel but I don't know how a knife would do on a wheel.

Well, if 50,000 won't do it, nothing will do it, I don't think. But I must say, from here the picture looks absolutely great.
