I have been interested in nature, photography, geology, and lapidary since my grandfather taught me to cut and polish stones when I was eight years old. I learned to love the outdoors through family vacations and Boy Scouts. I have hiked and collected rocks throughout California, and the west coast.
I belong to several west coast lapidary societies and have displayed my work at many local, state associations, and fairs. I have won many awards for my workmanship including the California State Federation Show and the best in show ribbon at the LA County Fair.
I have sold and traded specimens world wide through the internet, specialty shops and street fairs. I have provided unique specimens for artists that create wire wrapped jewelry.
Photos of my polished stones and articles that I have written have been, and will be, included in several books and web sites about lapidary.
I love the outdoors and have explored areas throughout the west coast. I worked for a geologist in Central Mexico mapping, locating, and collecting mineral samples for a mining company to locate new sources of gold, silver, and copper.
I have led field trips for local lapidary societies and private collectors.
I have given presentations about the local collecting sights that I have discovered to local lapidary societies.
Some of my work can be found at the “Rocks and Runes” store located in Burbank, CA www.rocksandrunes.com/
Some of the photographs of my work are included in a book written by Patti Polk “Collecting Rocks Gems and Minerals” available at www.agategrrrl.com
I have demonstrated lapidary arts at METALPALOOZA held at “The Sword and The Stone” in Burbank, CA www.swordandstone.com/
Information about myself, and photos of some of the polished and rough materials that I have found, and other items that I have for sale are available for viewing at my website www.californiaagategallery.com
