We're camping on Hatteras Island, off the coast of NC, and our neighbor showed me this find today so I thought I'd share.

A whale bone from the Outer Banks of NC. Found at the Buxton Point (the point that juts out where the island takes a turn at an angle).

I've never seen a whale bone like that before. Don't know that I would have recognized it as a whale bone.
