Great show coming up on September 2, 3, 4, & 5. Also know as Snyder's Ranch Pow Wow. This is their 37th annual show. This year is was moved from the first weekend in May to get beyond the mud bowl season and to get it on a 3 day weekend. I've been going to it for the last 25 years and I love it. Lots of slab and rough rock dealers, antique gas engine display, radio controlled airplanes, native Indian dancing, church ladies selling(SUPER) home made pies, beer truck, food and lots of fun. valleyspringspowwow.com Bob

Yep, when I lived in California and had a ranch not too far from Valley Springs, I never missed that show. It was indeed a mudhole sometimes though. Change to September sounds to be a good idea. I think Snyder's, Stoddard, and the Bakersfield tailgater show are the three best shows I've ever been to, especially for rough rock and slabs at great prices. I would have added Quartzite to the list but the last few times I've gone there it was kinda sucky and nothing like it was before Clouds moved...Mel

Forecast has highs in the 85-95 range, pretty reasonable in comparison to Newberry Springs at this time of year I'd guess...

John, So far the past few weeks have been quite moderate compared to our usual summers. Stockton has had a record numbers of days with no temperatures above 100!!! Hopefully, the 85 to 95 temperatures will persist! Bob

yeah, it will be about 85 - 95... something like that. hot as hek, but I'm kind of use to it because I try to save on electric bill by not having the air running in the day. I plan to go at least 2 of the days. hopfully 3.... Friday, sunday, & monday. I think my family is having a bbq or something on Saturday. =)
Hope to see some of you there! ~Colt

Colt: I'm not sure if Ron's Rocks from Camarillo will be there. he was threatening to retire from shows and just do e-bay but he was there in past years before I moved to Texas and he had tumbling grit and supplies for good prices. I bought a tumbler and grit from him at the Nipomo show a few years ago and he used to never miss Snyders. Aside from him, I don't remember a lot of booths with supplies but Snyders rules for good rough and slabs.....Mel
