Softer than agate harder than opal so I guess that puts it about a 6. Actually there were a few areas that were really soft.

It turned out nice, funny how things you collect, sit around thinking it's not all that great, until one day you cut into it, and wonder why it took you so long to cut it, wishing you picked up more.

You know I have had a pile of it setting in my front yard for the past two years and yesterday I was having opal troubles and walked out to the front yard and the piece this cab came from caught my eye. I set it on deck and cut it first thing in the morning. I will end up cutting more of it now. Hopefully I will be able to get back out there this coming January to get enough to make up some boxes.
