Well, we just got (4) Raytech V-6 vibe tumblers...small, but we're only doing this a little at a time anyway. 3 are for the stones (120/200 grit, 500 grit and final polish) and 1 for my finished jewelry We're also tumbling with small ceramic media for fill on the med and fine grit, and just ordered plastic bb's for the polish to try instead of the ceramic ... dry rice for the jewelry. Any advice is much appreciated! We're VERY new at this cab business...

Thanks Krystee Ted, we got our vt's from Graves... www.gravescompany.com/Vib_Tumbler.htm Very good prices too, which is why we got 4 of them! And I'm jealous.... 27 years rockhounding? We actually live just a mile or so from an old abandoned Fluorite mine... thinking we should head up there this weekend. I know there's lots of good places right here in our own backyard - good reason to get out and about now that the weather is cooling down

Ted: Cross the river into Marion, KY and come to open digs at The Columbia and Eureka mines! See www.clementmineralmuseum.org/ for more info. There are still two digs left this year. Sue

Hi Mary Ann & Ralph!
hehehe... we're already friends on facebook LOL .... in fact, I've bought some of your cabs! I am "The Eager Beader"
My hubby and I decided to give the cab business a whirl.... I'm sure I'll still buy cabs elsewhere, but it sure is fun making our own!
