Driving to Denver Sunday for work and wondering if there's any nice hounding spots between there and Albuquerque I could hit on the way back. Something not far off the beaten path that might hold some nice agates, jaspers or? Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Thanks Ed. Looking at a 13 hour drive tomorrow and a repeat on Friday. Won't have much time for looking but was hoping for a bit of info. Sounds like there's not much between the two towns. Who knows, maybe on one of my few leg stretches I'll get lucky ;D
Have a great week bud!

there are only 50 places to stop for rocks i know of along the way. Iassume you are comming up I 25 . As you go through Pueblo look to the east as you cross hwy 50 east and see the radio /tv towers off in the distance . That is bacculite mesa ,, millions of baccltites and other marine fossels. But keep going north and in a while you will see short mtn slim .it is a hot water vent volcano on the rightside of the hwy . There is a turn off and you can go putz to your heats content for all kinds of fossils. then from denver to the west as short as15 miles there are several places, even in downtown Denver on the cherry creek you can find color(gold)
much mere just pm me Dicky
