Hello...
I'm new here but I have been stocking our site for the few weeks for information. I have liked what I seen!
I just got my first tumbler, and my gf and I have been excited to do so many things. Stones, glass, clay beads. She looks to me for most of the answers even though it's just my first batch of stones. Apparently I'm the instant pro. In turn, I'm turning to you guys for you wonderful fountains of knowledge.
If you have any questions for me let me know, cause I don't really know what to say.
I apologize in advance if I annoy anybody with questions. If I don't ask, I won't learn. If I don't learn, then I'd be stupid.

Welcome to the forum!! Don't worry about asking questions here! There are a great many folks who enjoy furthering the hobby by helping a person with the many problems one encounters. When I started tumbling, I would have been lost without the gracious help I found here.

Welcome aboard stasiak. Bring on the questions. You won't annoy us. That's part of the reason we're here. To help each other, and those who are new to the hobby. And who knows ? We may even learn from some of your questions. There's not a single person on here that knows it all, and has all the answers. We are constantly learning from each other.
Don

Howdy and welcome; Ask questions, someone will have an answer. What brand is your new tumbler? James

Thank you and thank you and thanks some more.
My brand is Lortone. It's my first one. It's only a small 3 lb double barrel. I think it's pretty much a perfect size becasue I live in an appartment. I should of gotten this along time ago. I've always been interested in rocks, ever since my grandpa gave me a change purse filled with them. Just small stones. He also gave me a huge Apache Tear stone and some fools gold or painted gold...lol. (Ha fools gold, guess he was cheap that way).

I like the Lortone 33 B, my firse tumbler too. If you are having a problum, some one with a Lortone may have had the same trouble. A lot of us use www.therockshed.com for grit and rough plus Shawn has replacement parts for your tumbler. Just thought I would throw that in if you didn't know. James

I was looking at therockshed.com for the last few weeks also. The only thing that might be an issue is the price of shipping to Canada, (if they ship here.) I was drooling over the different types of mixed rock. The prices are pretty good, it's just the shipping might get me.
I'm glad to hear others have had the Lortone 33B. I currently only have one barrel running on it becasue I don't have enough stones for 2 barrels. I'm liking the quietness of it and the noise is relaxing. (Is that weird?)

Ok, I just finished taking a look at the rockshed again, this time playing with the shipping calculator. It does seem to be a pretty cool place to get some great stones. I WILL BE HITTING THIS PLACE UP!
