So I spent the week up in Denver for work related meetings. Didn't get a chance to get out and rock hound there.. except in the landscape gravel at the hotel. Kicking around I came across 3 pieces of pet wood

The largest find really put me on a Rocky Mountain High ;D Here's a few others from there

So Friday on the way back we stopped in Rio Rancho NM for lunch. saw an area of river rock in the Taco bell parking lot, grabbed my chalupa and went for a closer look

Wow.. was really shocked to see so many agates and jaspers right in this one little area of landscaping..

This one has star burst sprays all over it, maybe a coral?

My guess is these are from the Rio Grande that runs through there.. very cool.

OK so we made it to Holbrook around 4 and I got permission from Christa to spend a little time looking for wood ;D We hit an area near Woodruff and spent about an hour and a half.. here's what we found

Thanks everyone! I spent my summers in Woodruff as a kid with my grandparents, man I wish I had back some of the rounds I picked up back then! Donnie I'll post the coral when I cut it.. hope thats what it is. Larry I think most of the chalupa was squeezed out one end when I started finding the good stuff lol. Susan no squirt bottle.. just me hunched over kicking landscape rock around. Actually had someone come up to me in Denver and asked what I lost in the rocks! ;D

Leave it to you to find treasures in a Taco Bell parking lot. If anyone else was there, they would be regular rocks. Beef the rock magnet strikes again! Love a good tailgate shot too. Really colorful wood. Nice yellows and reds. Amazing you got all that in an hour and a half. Once again, every rock in Woodruff was clamoring to get in your truck. ;D
