That one in the 3rd & 4th pics might be a Fairburn, And I'd sure like to be able to see # 14 in person. Often times they don't look at all like a Fairburn in a pic. Also check # 16 real good. You might have what is known as a ghost Fairburn. They have the white and clear bands. Very scarce and highly sought after by collectors.

They all look very nice! Looks as though you collected lots of colorful material, should yield some nice stuff to work with.

Whether Fairburns or not, I'm sure many of us would be glad to take these off your hands if you just wanted to mail them to us! lol Sue

So do we.
My wife wants to move immediately!
Love the weather, but then I love Sedona, Sante Fe, Missoula, Young Harris, Greenville, Aiken, and many more places that I only visit for a week at a time.
I must say the climate was outstanding in SD
charlie
PS ...Some of the rocks I started tumbling had small fairburns too

Hey Charlie, wait another month and your wife won't want to move here unless she likes snow blowers, snow shovels and snow mobiles.

Awesome finds Charlie! Some of them sure look like Fairburns to me too. Looks like some great Prairies and bubblegum type agates too. You've really got the eye for colorful specimens. Picked up some real eye poppers out there!.....Mel

Georgeous!!! When I first started collecting I thought Fairburns ould be all I wanted to find. I've learned that as long as I get some nice pretty rocks I'm happy as a clam. Granted....finding the fairburns are definitley an added bonus! ;D
And you came to SoDak at a great time of year...our weather has been gorgeous this fall...just wait a few weeks though and we'll be elbow deep in snow drifts.

Hey Kate, Maybe we should post a few pics in a month or so. Charlie's will change her mind about wanting to move real quick. lol lol! For sure! We don't get it quite as bad here in the good ole banana belt as you do up north, but my boyfriend ranches just south of Eagle Butte so I can get some good 12' drift and massive snow pile mountain pics when I'm at his place. In the negative degree weather. lol Gotta love SoDak! ;D

If you don't like S.D. weather, just wait an hour or so.

Really nice agates and jaspers. I like that red striated stone with the golden rind.
