Fabulous cab of a fabulous stone. Really bizarre stuff if you know a little bit about pectolite. Typically radiating acicular, white, balls and druses, fluffy!, soft, brittle... to be found in a form that's cuttable is just amazing. And blue no less...

Beautiful cab. Is this a natural stone? It looks very simmilar to that man-made stuff made by that Japonese guy. If so, I think he tried to immitate this Larimar.

I ran across a supplier today of Larimar. It is only found in 1 square kilometer of an island in the Carribean. Most is crumbly like stated and needs to be stabilized if cut thin to keep the matrix it is mixed with from turning to mush. It is created from the ash of an extinct volano so it is the ash mix which falls apart on you. Once it is mined out there will be no more. It`s pretty similiar to turquoise or chrysacolla in its matrix mixing. The gaia stone would be a cousin of this volcanic ash stone I guess. Another beautiful rock itself.
