My eyes and fingers are killing me - wrapping wire most of the day, but here'a a larger version of the Cab Stand from yesterday: Shown alone, and beside the smaller stand: Holding an 8.7 oz chunk of Orange Calcite: Back side: And holding a 9.3 oz hunk of Malachite: In both these stands, I've used 20 gauge wire for the frame....any larger of a specimen would require 18 or 16 gauge - but it's definately do-able! Thanks for looking Judy

Great work. Looks like only transparent slabs should go on the stand. You're hiding all the lovliness...

LOL Toad...that was very sweet of you to say and thanks Donnie and Frog!! Mary Ann... I'm really horrible at trying to put a fair price on my stuff LOL .... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! There's about 5' of 26 gauge wire in the bigger one and about 3 hours work usually doesnt take that long making subsequent pieces, once I get the hang of it I was thinking somewhere around 20 for the little one and 25 for the big one? Hubby always says I price things too low... but I dunno - I try to go with what I would pay... ;D

Hi Judy, I also agree those stands are and look GREAT! Your choice of display stone was perfect as well. I to would be interested in a tutorial. Another application for those stands could be to display collector plates. I think that opens these stands up to a larger market to sell to.

Thank you Nate and Stu! Stu, you're right! The sky is the limit with this thing A plate stand would have to be much larger and more heavy duty though... definitely a possibility. And I've been batting the tutorial around in my head as I've been making those that have been ordered... might be a couple weeks but I'm definitely going to write one!
