I'm just wondering who'll be coming to Q this winter. We're already here & looking to meet more RTH'ers "in the flesh".
BTW, don't put too much trust in the news reporting of the political goings on around here. Remember that the press is the entity who thinks all politicians are honest & here to help us. Or something like that, as long as it makes a good story. Doesn't have to be true
Please PM me or reply here & let me know if & when you'll be here. Maybe all of us can take over "Silly Al's Pizza" some night for a get together. Jo

Hi Gary, It's generally the last weekend of January for the PowWow. I just Googled Desert Gardens & it says it goes from Jan 1st to Feb 28th. That may be the official dates, but last year people started wandering in a LOT earlier than that (November-ish?) & stayed later. I think the last vendors pulled out in March some time. I'll take a run by on the quad after dinner & see if anybody's wandering in yet. Looking forward to meeting you. Jo

I'm trying to convince my wife that we should do this as weekend run although she's not really into rockhounding. It might be just my elder son, Andrew and I. I'd love to go but we'll have to see how this pans out.

We should be heading out right after Christmas. Will be coming from the east coast so our dates of arrival will depend on weather and stuff. We should be there the first week of January and will stay for 3 months. Staying at Sunsetters right across from QIA (Pow-Wow).

Hot diggity. Sounds like we're going to have a good crowd!
Paul, bribe your wife with a good time & Silly Al's Pizza. Tell her my husband's not a huge rock hounder either & they can sit around & talk about this weird mental illness their spouses have.
Mary Ann, looking forward to seeing you all again.
Jo, my dear, can't wait to see you. Will you be in the same site? Let us know when you roll in.
Nuevomundo, it will be a pleasure to meet you. Just look for a short squatty old blonde woman.
John, I don't think I've met you in person, but am looking forward to it.
Spicerm, it will be a pleasure to meet you too.
This is going to be so much fun.

Hey, Jo, I'll do that! As a retired 4th grade teacher, she's interested at an academic level but that's about it so I'm sure she'll appreciate a "non-addicted" person to chat with. I would love to meet everyone in person! Gotta figure out how to slip this in between the boys school and basketball. Paul Hot diggity. Sounds like we're going to have a good crowd! I will be there several times during Jan & Feb but just to buy and see the sites. Prob will go in Dec as well, always early bird specials at Desert Gardens.
Lee, not many motels available during that time. If you are in an RV, there are a lot of spaces.
I offer my home free of charge to any RTH'er that wants to come but can not find a room or does not have the $ to spend. It is not luxury but I have a raised queen air mattress, great food and a nice hot tub! I am approx 1 1/2hr from Quartzite in the small tourist town of Wickenburg. I will help as many of you as I can get to come and experience Quartzite, the rockhounds Disneyland!!

If I can't find a place to stay, all I need is a place to shower...the rest I can take care of. I slept in my truck at Burro Creek(I can rough it....lol).
