Just like with the agates, I can't really make up my mind which Jasper I like best. In some cases I not even know if they are jaspers at all. But,..... thus far I played with Willow Creek and was lucky to get a lot of very colorful material. A pair of "Friendship Keys" A rescued Biggs Some Old Time Mexican Jasper (seller called it Imperial Flame Jasper and claimed it would have been mimed out some 50 years ago) Sahara always looks good Stunning Rainforest, Lay-out choosen by younger daughter as she sees two Mantas swimming over the reef. Porcelain Jasper No idea if this is Jasper. "Polish Flint" That's it for now, got lots more but I consider the other cabs as canvases for further improvements and or carving in the future. Thanks for looking,

Thank you all. Yeahh, the shapes are quite out there, but I prefer them that way. Regular shaped cabs are fine, but I'm looking more for pictures, so things often do not fit into any regular shape. This of course makes it expensive when it comes to setting as they will not fit into anything regular. As I do not work with metals, I try to include simple design-openings, whenever I can, to enable a quick and easy fix, to hang it from any chain (like the heart and the keys). So a big enough jump-ring and a bail will do the trick. Only when it comes to important presents will I be willing to put something more elaborate together. Only did the Fire Agate in the center, bought all the stones individually and designed the arrangement. Can you imagine the poor guy who had to set an irregular FA, 3 rough Diamonds and 84 faceted stones on the same piece? As said I don't know how to work with metal, but even I know that he did earn his money that day the hard way.

Nice. I can see a wire-wrapped version of the rescued biggs with only the top grooves held by wire.....hmmm.

holy moly those are stunning............ let me ask a question, on the royal sahara, i see you also get the same white dots. Anyway to get rid of them or are they just part of the rock?

Mary Ann, Those spots are barely visible on the stone itself and I would assume that they are between the layers, hence natural inclusions.
Charlie, as we do not have Rock hunting clubs in Hong Kong as far as I am aware off; I get all the rough through a couple of Ebay-sellers. Have been with them for a while and they allow me payment without Credit-Cards and wait for the boxes to fill up before shipping. So I can wait for considerable time, and be choosy, before having to fill up boxes.
Have a great day,..... Kurt
