I'm not sure yet Paul - these are my first fire agates  the pretty blue one is gonna get wrapped in SS ...soon as I'm done making stands LOL |

Beautiful pieces.
Judy: don't worry about not having worked any FA before; just choose the least interesting piece first and start working it. Looking at your ware at your site, I'm sure you will have the patience to work them up just fine. Just remember to spend double-time looking versus cutting/grinding. Also, while you need to be careful not cutting through colors that you want, stones from that mine often have very tightly spaced layers; so I often cut through one and get a better color underneath and or Schiller effect.

thanks KK ... that's some valuable information!! I'll definitely go slow and look alot... at first glance, I dont think they need much grinding really, just tiny spots here and there - with the dremel And Kris... I just saw all the obsidian you have on Ebay - the blue stripe is gorgeous!! I might have to get some of that LOL |

Oh me too! I'm very happy with my parcel, they're my first nice fire agate! I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try it yet, but thank you Chris!!
