I had a piece of lapidary equipment that I was not using so I offered a trade to a friend of mine. I had tried to buy this Titan from him before I bought a Genie. He came up with the trade and as I needed another cabbing machine that I could travel with I was thrilled. Obviously I can not travel with this big hunk of machinery, but I can at least take my Genie. I will be cleaning the "snot" out of it. I do not think it has ever been cleaned. One pump was not working to well , the geyser was stopped up and I have not tried it again yet. Any good solutions for cleaning? All the wheels will be removed and everything will be cleaned before reassembly. I love to face polish so I am going to have a blast with this thing. I almost bought a pixie a few months ago so I could cab away from home. BeLinda [

One thing about it, anything you do will make it look better. You can try a small wire or drill to clean out the geyser holes. If it looks like hard water deposits vinegar or other mild acid probably wouldn't hurt. The motor should clean up with a good scrubbing. Those are monstrous units.

If the geysers are the same as mine I finally got both of them working good by a combination of boiling them in a vinegar, water mixture & using a thin wire to poke through the holes.

I have the geysers cleaned out with vinegar. Now to get the trays and covers clean. Since they are cast aluminum other than a good power washing I am unsure of what to use other than vinegar. Thanks John and Donnie.

An invaluable tool for cleaning those tiny holes is a set of tip cleaners for welding torches. Any welding supply and many hardware stores will have them, and they're fairly cheap. For the hoods and pans, a good overnight soaking in CLR should get them clean. Remove the 4 rubber feet under the baseboard and replace them with 6 new feet. (Hardware store again). Put the extra set under the middle of the board to keep it from sagging in the middle.

BeLinda. Nice find.. Not real sure but it looks to me from the photos that unit was rebuilt not so long ago. Check the screws and nuts holding the bearing housings together. See if they have been off and back on? The center of the motor looks newer than the bearing housings. I would guess that Titan has been rebuilt once already. The way the paint looks I say. Its has new field windings. If they replaced the windings they would have replaced the bearings before reseal. If it runs quite I wouldn't mess with anything other than a cosmetic cleanup. And swap out the worn or bad wheels.
CLR should help with the clean up.
The best tubing and small hole cleaner is a guitar string.
The wrapped strings are fatter and act like a rasp. But the thin high "E" string is almost hair fine and is some very ridged wire. Makes a great fine poker yet is flexible. Nice find. Jim
