Tried it Chris. All I heard were the damned gophers tunneling through my yard. In the 15 years that I've lived here, there has been exactly 1 rock sale. The guy had lots of neat stuff, but the sale was too well advertised. There were rock shop owners from at least 4 states at the sale. All with deeper pockets than mine. All I managed to snag was a nice chunk of tigereye, and a display stand. Sure miss those California rockhound estate sales. Don

It's very tough to find a rock sale here too. Much tougher than back in California. Last two I found out about were totally bought out by early birds first thing in the morning. I never even got a look at the material. Prices here locally are also much higher than the rock yard sales out west. Place I'm going on Sunday charges a dollar a pound which I think is pretty reasonable but many are much more expensive.....Mel

I was thinking 1500 to a ton . you have all that in one pickup load ? How much that flat brazil weigh? i guess thirty pounds . i see a guitar pick on it , You play guitar ?

Well it look like it is time to invest in a new rock scale. I have a 25lbs rock scale. I put that flat Brazilian on it and it was too heavy for it. So I snuck out the wife's bathroom scale out. I might get away with that once but I am sure I will get caught if I try again, so time to get a bigger rock one. Anyways it cam in around 58lbs Ted. It is a pretty big one! Yeah I play guitar, acoustic. I made a pick out of some Rainbow Ledge awhile ago.
