After working on several buterflies & dragonflies pluss a couple of crosses. I was ready to do something a bit more "simple". I had this string of graduated Kingman turquoise beads. I'd bought last oct. in Gallup at IJS. Then when I was in Kingman last month at Colbaugh. I bought some rough that was exactly the same. A hard thing to do. Exactly match up beads & rough. Turquoise varies so much just from stone to stone. But I got lucky I guess. I kind of wish now I'd cut the smaller side stone with more of the matix in. Rather than cutting in the more clear areas like the earring cabs (which I cut after assembling the necklace). They would have matched up with the beads even better like the foccal pendant. I started stamping around the larger main one. But my stamping is really rusty & it sucked. So I cut it down to close to the twisted wire (20ga) & trimmed all the others to match. That I'm actually glad of. I think it looks better than it would with the stamping (even if it didn't suck LOL). I guess the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principal works every time :-)

It is simple actually. If you break it down. It's just 7 graduated size pendants on a string of turquoise beads. With a few hogan beads thrown in. Many here make individual pendants. Just design using several & combine with beads. For an overall design. I'm always thinking. Now if I use this & this stone how can I combine with apropriate beads to make a full necklace. Instead of just a pendant. I didn't make the earrings till after I was sure of how many of the pendants I was going to use. Design wise I'd made all the cabs. But untill I had the settings made & layed out with the beads. I wasn't sure if I'd use 2 on a side or 3. If 2 then I could use the smallest (top) ones for the earrings. Wasn't till that point that I put on the loops for stringing.
