New member here hopping to be at the show Saturday morning. Hope to get a few small pieces of rough Opal for cab and triplets. Just took faceting class from Tulsa Rock and Mineral society so maybe I can get other stones to facet if I ever get a machine.

The best thing to do is to just cut them!! Believe me....you won't make too many mistakes.....with the price of rough....you will learn real quick what not to do!!

Seriously though only cutting will give you confidence and skill.

What should I look for in buying rough Opal? Is there anyone or two venders that you have had good luck with? Not going to be able to spend to much, also trying to find some small faceting rocks.
Any one else have information to help me please let me know.
