Every year Frances and I go to Arkansas to see the fall foliage. This year we went to the Buffalo River. The Buffalo is the first river in the U. S. to get the National title. I think around 1971 Congress passed the bill. It's one of the cleanest rivers in the U. S. and will never have a dam built on it. The Buffalo has huge rock bluffs all up and down it. The beautiful green color comes from minute slate particles in the water I love the way the water reflects images and this is my favorite shot I took on the trip Fall foliage This is a picture of 5 deer that walked by our campsite just before dark. We came back home by way of Ark Hwy 7. I'll post those pics in another thread Curt

Nothing more soothing than beautiful reflections on water. And on an un-dammed river to boot! Looks like you had a great camping trip.

Thanks for sharing. Nature rocks, especially where it has not been destroyed or damaged. Great photos. Jim

What a beautiful place! And those deer, they blend in the forest perfectly. Even though you say there are five of them, I only spotted one, and this is because you mentioned them.

Thanks guys! No John, we didn't do any floating but hope to go back one day and try it out. It was a short trip and just didn't have time. Adrian, I was wondering if anyone could see the deer. I knew we were close to you Donna but after the drive to the Buffalo, I don't think I could have made it another 2 hours. One of these days............ Curt

The first time I visited Arkansas was to float the Buffalo out of Jasper. I fell in love with it and now live in the Ozarks. I was pleasantly surprised the colors were good this year. We had a pretty severe drought this summer and alot of trees went dormant early. Love the pics.
