Howdy folks, Was out hiking looking for an outcrop of dogtooth calcite crystals that is supposed to be in a local wash. Didn't find a dang crystal but I did find some more Indian stuff. The big one is what we call a trade blank and these were made by percussion flaking to break down flint nodules for easy trade and transport. They could later be worked into blades or points. The others are broken dart points and a broken knife. I just bought the hilltop that has the huge Amerind rootbeer flint quarry so when escrow finishes up, I hope to be able to finally dig for some points and such as the quarry has a large surrounding Amerind site dating back some 6000 years or so......Mel

Great find. You're getting me into the mood Mel. There is a bunch of grinding holes in large granite slabs about a mile south of my house. Never searched for arrow heads there but I think it's a good time to check it out in more detail.

Cool pieces Mel. Congratulations on your purchase too, sounds like you're a little excited to dig! Nate
