Hi all! Just found this site. Am a long-time (since birth) "rock-pick-er-upper"-my house is full of rocks, petrified wood, crystals, agates, druzy, "JARs" (Just A Rock) from the Pacific Northwest. I now live in the Gem state of Idaho and spend hours in the high desert searching for treasures. ;D I have an 18" saw and my husband and I are refurbishing a Highland Park combo unit that must be older than me (late '50s maybe?) as well as a small tumbler. Glad to find this site! We do not have a local rock and gem club so it is nice to be able to yak with other 'hounds. Happy hunting!

Welcome aboard idahorocker. Like you, I don't have a rock club near me. Nearest club is a 3 hour drive, and nearest rock show is 7 hours away. So join in the fun on this forum.

Howdy, and welcome! This is a great site, I have learned much from the "rock sages" here. It is so nice to have a place such as this to share discoveries, get new ideas, drool over each others rocks and make some great friends.

Welcome, If you ever come across some of that common opal up on the high plains I would be real interested in doing some trading. I would go two or three to one to get some of it. Jim
