Hi Don! I just moved up to Isle MN from N.E. Iowa on Oct 8th! Now that i'm getting older thought it was time to leave the fields of Iowa and go back to the trees of MN! LOL I spent 17 yrs down there, believe it or not, I miss it. LOL

I know what you mean Diana. I grew up in Southern California, and moved up here so my wife could be near her parents and brothers. I miss the good rockhounding in So Cal, and hate having to drive for 7 hours to get to good rockhounding grounds.

Good spots in Iowa were hard to find to because there is a lot of limestone in the area I was. LOL Fossils? Yeah bout anywhere on the river. We took a canoe trip past June, was supposed to be 4 hour trip, we turned it into a 7 hour trip because of stopping at sandbars looking for rock. Haha! Lots of fossils I found, some pretty great ones! Not much of anything else other then odd shaped rocks which of course I kept and brought with me up here. Just about all the Superiors I found down there came out of my own yard! Had river rock put in. LOL. That's why i was extremely surprised to find my big baby!! LOL. All my friends down there think I'm nuts cause I brought ALL my rocks up with me, told them i didn't hunt em down all these years just to leave behind. LOL So what kind of rocks are in So Calif?
