How long do Nova Wheels last? I am getting tired of buying sanding paper...especially the 1200 stuff. I'm trying to make a convincing argument to my wife! Thanks, Scott

The coarse wheel will wear out the fastest. That one lasts me about a year because I'm really hard on them. The other three lasted me 3 years each the first time around.

I tend to be hard on my wheels but I'm getting better and I get around 800-1000 cabs depending on size and hardness of materials.

3 years into it i need to replace one probably in a year or two and the others should last 5 more years i think .. i cab occasionly but am very hard on a certain wheel which needs replacing .. the hard wheels they cut like new still !! should last very long .. its really all up to how u cut though .. i grind heavy on my saws so i barely use the hard wheels and the next wheel gets murdered .. everything is looking great ...

I'm interested in this question I'm pretty new to the Nova wheels
I probably have 200 hours on my 4" Pixie wheels I can understand how the 280 grit might wear out sooner.
But its good to hear about positive wear life.
I was a bit displease with my new Pixie cause the leathers in the pump dried out after only about 40 hours of use.
There was just know way i was going to get that perfect machine off the shelf Murphey!
So I use a potable geyser now Otherwise it fine little machine,

I have used mine for nearly 3 years now and I am sometimes quite hard on them. I need to replace the 280 soon since I will rough out cabs and put them in the vibe to finish if they are a hard, solid material. The ones next will be 3000 and the 600. I have never felt my 3000 had set quite right since I had gotten my geni so it has an odd warn patch and feels a little uneven. May be that the bearings have never been right in it. I love the nova wheels because they will help you avoid flat spots and they work quickly, especially if you let them do the work, instead of pressing into them too hard. I find that when I start getting tired, after I have worked several cabs on that wheel, I will start pressing too hard and that is when I get the undercutting or an uneven finish. Good luck getting some because I really feel they are the way to go! Fran

Hi Fran! My 3000 grit wheel seems rough, also Not out of round, particularly just a rough feel ---when I grind on it guess that the way they are?

Thinking about getting a set of 8-inchers, glad to hear they hold up OK. I had a used set that lasted about 2-3 years, so new ought to really be good new. Steve

Hello cabbers, could someone please take a look at these photos of 6" Diamond Pacific Nova wheels and let me know if they are worn out or do they have lots of use left on them. Thanks so much. Doug

Agree with Tela. Yours are hardly worn at all. This is what a really worn wheel looks like: When you start to see that black coming through, then it's time to put a new one on.

On the other hand if you’re set on a new set of wheels, feel free to send those broken in ones my way! 🤓
