yeah, I could probably smooth out the broken edge. I'll lose some more nodules doing so. I've put it aside for a while, don't want to look at it.

I hope I did the piece from Christopher justice. you take your chances with carving and what you have left is an odd lumpy shape which is difficult to set, but usually you get to reveal an entire layer of color in the stone to nice effect. I saw the purple in this one and decided to "go for it". the purple wasn't as bright as the other layers but it was purple...lol

you did! its very beautiful with the purple and green fire. I think that the carved fire agates make for very interesting pendants
oh and I have a indoor/outdoor gray carpet on the floor of my lapidary shop just for the occasion of a rock being thrown by what ever process I am doing.
