Hey all,
I haven't been around much, busy with things other than rocks and minerals, but this past weekend I displayed at the Oxnard Gem and Mineral Show. I wish I could have spent more time there but at least I got to dust off my stones and put them behind glass for people to stare at.
Saw Christopher1234 there and had a nice talk.
Didn't buy much - 30 pieces of grade Z dino bone for my students - 30 pieces of low grade Dryhead to give my students, an OK Black Rock Desert half, a small piece of youngite, a small parcelas agate, a cracked Bear Canyon end piece, and a tiny condor agate that is pretty much one color - black. I got the pieces cheap and will display them in my classroom for the year and then give them away.
Anyway - I only had time to shoot my display, and I did a cr*ppy job of that. Still, figured I need to get my post numbers up so here goes with my display. Don't laugh. I put more time into my stones than my backdrop...
Oh, and thanks to Mel, Woody, Roger, John who all have provided material in the past via trades, sales, or thank you's that showed up here. If I overlooked anybody, please forgive me.
International Agate Case
My horrible cut-paper title with
Some South American Stuff - in the back - with Mexican in the front.
The front purple pieces are apparently mislabeled. One of the dealers at the show ID's them as from the Parcelas region, though not from the Parcelas claim specifically.
Closer look at the Parcelas:
And why not a shot at Moctezuma row:
Here's the left side of the display case:
With a look at things down under:
And coming back to the USA case
Right side:
Middle:
And Left side...no wait...I don't seem to have a closeup of the right side - so Middle Again - shading more to the left!
Thanks for glancing at my blurry photos...and no, you don't need to check your prescription lenses...
