Howdy folks, Still unpacking junk I moved here three years ago and I stumbled across a couple of old bolas. Just thought I'd add a couple of pics. The first example is a tumbled stone. Somewhere in the vicinity of Owens Lake, CA is a deposit of jasper nodules just like the Royal Sahara Jasper from Egypt as I've found artifact fragments from it at the SW corner of the lake but never found the actual source. Always wanted to find the source. One of my most frustrating mysteries. Brown and pink crinoidal limestone from the C. B. Lambert ranch at San Saba Texas. Kind of a crappy cab but this is from really old work I did when I first started using the Genie probably 30 years ago.

I really like the fist one. Too bad you never found the source of that material.

Nice stuff, I quite agree with the limestone. While I'm usually in league with strong colors, somehow I quite like the subdued color on this one.

That does look a lot like RS! Neat Crinoid too, really nice looking tie.

That second one looks like a brecciated black and white photo. Since I am a fan of black and white photography I like it very much. The mount really sets off that look also. Jim

OK, I really like both and I am glad you posted them! Too bad you never found the source for that picture jasper. It is really great! Fran
