Just found this site a week ago and have already gained a lot of info. I have been tumbling blind for about a year and appreciate all the advice and ideas that I have found and will definitely be a regular from now on!

Tumbling eh? lol... Welcome, post plenty of pics of your tumbles! (even if you think they're bad) that's when you'll get the best advice.

Many of these went back because we were not happy with them but some of them are already taking on a shine and will go to polish.

Los of interesting looking rocks there. I just moved out of Alberta to B.C. but i found quite a few nice rocks while i was there. I am not sure where you are but if you are anywhere near Edmonton i recommend searching the gravel bars of the North Saskatchewan river. There is lots of nice pet wood (not very colorful though) and some nice agate pieces too. There is also quite a bit of good flour gold there too.
Welcome to the forum and good luck on your tumbles.
Sampson

Thanks everyone for your support. I will try to post some photos of these when they are done. Sampson- We are in Edson and most of our material has come from the gravel pits along the Mcleod River but maybe its time to go further afield and check out the North Saskatchewan and the Athabaska. Thanks for the info, petrified wood we have plenty of including pieces weighing 2000-3000 pounds but anouther source for agate is very welcome.
