Howdy folks, Took out a fairly sizable group fir the fieldtrip the other day and the kids and adults alike really depleted my pendant supply. Horseback ride for this afternoon was cancelled due to a nasty cold wind so I worked on a few more pendants for future outings. Actually managed not to glue any body parts together today too which was extra cool cause, as my wife says, "Mel is not to be trusted around glue. He's worse than Tim the tool man". Anyway, still need to do the jump rings and chains after I'm sure they're all dry but here's a pic of the lot, various tumbled slabettes, offcuts etc. Stuff from several friends including Ralph and Mary Ann and fossil mako shark teeth from Sharktooth Hill near Bakersfield back in California. Thanks for lookin.....Mel

Nice collection Mel. What do you use for chain? When I worked in polymer clay, they used decoy cord (I ordered 500 ft from Cabela's cheap!). You can join it with a little piece of plastic tubing or know it in various ways (although I see on their site they now say it is "knot proof"!!!)

Nice batch Mel!
If you have trouble with gluing pendants, you should try gluing linoleum to a floor one of these days. I glued myself to everything in the room. Fortunately I didn't have to go to the bathroom while doing the project.

Meta: I've been using store bought chains and they are getting pretty expensive so I may try something like you suggested for an alternative. as gonna ask Randy too. I thin he uses some kind of cord. If I use cord though it has to be some kind of breakaway so the kids don't choke themselves.
kk: I live on a large ranch and several times a year take groups of kids and parents out for nature walks including rock, fossil and arrowhead hunting.....Mel

Hi Mel I used some thin leather cord on Mine but over here they dont sell at all at present
I made around 15 Exactly like yours (Leaf bail clip ) to see if they would sell havent sold one yet, not much money around over here
Did a fair on Saturday very good time with everything else
Jack Yorkshire uk Ps I knot one cord end round the other cord and the other end knotted round the other cord so it gives a slip knot to adjust the necklass size so if someone grabbed it it opens instead of closing
