This one is Variscite. It is 2-1/4" high. It is rather soft material so working it was a pain. I ground it to shape and sanded up through 400 but from there I had to hand sand it with small squares of fresh 600 grit paper. The normal polishing with Cerium on a carpet wheel didn't work, nor did Zam om a hard felt wheel. I finally had to go to my last resort which is a 6" hard wood (Walnut) wheel with Rapid Polish as a polishing media. It took a fair polish, not up to my usual standard, though. Beautiful!!! I tried a piece of variscite several months ago and gave up on it almost immediately, you make it look brilliant! Stuff I had crumbled if you looked at it too hard ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Varisite can be tricky to cab, each piece is different. The only consistent thing is that it is soft material. Cab looks good to me.

I like the shape you did, and the pattern in that cab is cool. And you can see the shine!
