Man, I love those Rio Grandes! So much variety in color and pattern in one material. I'm especially fond of those orbicular forms and some of them actually have areas that are as nice as any poppy jasper. Though most are moss, there is fine plume to be found too. Just shows those river worn cobbles probably came from all over west Texas and northern Mexico back when the Rio Grande was a much more massive river.....Mel

My eyes are still burning after staring at the brilliant yellows in #2, #3 and #4. Looks radioactive.

The shop I frequent is moving and I`ve been there to help cull some of the rough. There are 2 drums of these Rio Grandes for $3 lb. I think I brought home about 15 lbs. of it. I`ll be getting more later. Lots of moss, fossil stones, and some conglomerates with a rainbow of pebbles in the makeup. Reds and yellows are outstanding in the Rio Grandes I think. I found one with a 1 1/2" turitella on the surface.
